About the event

Standing Together for Immigrant Rights in Phoenix

Every day in Phoenix, immigrants walk into ICE check-ins, not knowing if they’ll return home to their families—or be detained and deported. With rising immigration enforcement, these appointments have become one of the most terrifying and high-risk moments in an immigrant’s legal process.

To address this critical need, the Puente Human Rights Movement and Borderlands Resource Initiative (BRI) have united to launch the Solidarity Accompaniment Program—ensuring no one faces these moments alone.

As an Accompaniment Volunteer, you’ll be one of the first faces people see when they arrive for their appointments. You’ll be part of a compassionate team offering presence, guidance, and humanity to people in the moments before they walk inside. You’ll be helping individuals prepare for the worst, ensuring that—if they don’t walk out—there’s a plan in place for their children, their families, and their futures.

Your presence could mean the difference between a child going home to an empty house after school or being safely picked up by a trusted family friend. It could mean the difference between someone disappearing into the system with no way to contact their loved ones or having a safety net ready to respond.

Some moments change lives. This is one of them. Be there.
