Information Team

$75,000

At Borderlands Resource Initiative, we believe in leveraging technology to create meaningful solutions that directly impact the lives of asylum seekers, migrants, and the communities that support them. As our Information & Technology Supervisor, you'll play a critical role in designing and implementing systems that enhance service delivery and facilitate data-driven decision-making, improving outcomes for the people we serve.

Why We Need You

This role is crucial to building the technological backbone that supports our mission. You will oversee the development of innovative solutions, from streamlining case management to enabling faster data collection at emergency shelters. Your efforts will improve the speed and efficiency of service delivery, ensuring that vulnerable populations receive the help they need. Without you, we would lack the infrastructure necessary to scale and innovate, potentially leaving many without timely assistance.

What You Will Be Doing

As Information & Technology Supervisor, you will take the lead in developing tools and technologies that drive efficiency, collaboration, and compassion. Here are a few key responsibilities that make this role both unique and impactful:
• Design and develop data collection systems tailored for rapid intake at emergency shelters, ensuring that information is gathered quickly and accurately.
• Lead the development of collaborative case management and medical service delivery platforms, allowing for seamless integration between organizations.
• Incorporate field-tested feedback to continuously improve our technological solutions, ensuring that they meet the real-world needs of the people and organizations we serve.
• Collaborate with external stakeholders such as non-profit organizations, policymakers, and IT teams to implement cutting-edge technology that supports our mission.

You Need These Qualifications

• You have experience working with large-scale data systems development, including the design, implementation, and scaling of data management platforms.
• You have proficiency in programming languages relevant to IT development, such as Python, Java, or SQL, and are comfortable troubleshooting or enhancing existing systems.
• You have demonstrated experience working with outside stakeholders, incorporating feedback from on-the-ground users, and making iterative improvements to software or platforms.
• You possess strong project management skills and the ability to oversee the full development lifecycle, from initial concept to implementation and refinement.
• You’re adept at integrating security protocols and ensuring data privacy, especially when handling sensitive information from vulnerable populations.

It Would Be Nice If...

• You have experience working with asylum seekers and migrants, understanding the unique challenges they face.
• You’ve worked in shelter environments and understand the operational and technological needs of these spaces.
• You have experience with cloud computing platforms, such as AWS or Azure, to support scalable solutions.
• You are bilingual in English and Spanish, enabling you to connect more effectively with diverse stakeholders and communities.
• You have familiarity with API integration to streamline communication between different software and systems.
